Our Favorite Effortless Hairstyles for Holiday Parties

As the weather starts to get colder and pumpkin spice starts to pop up everywhere we can rest assured that the holiday season is underway! With the holidays comes all of the wonderful parties and festivities. Whether its a more casual get together or the annual office holiday party, here are 4 different effortless hairstyles for any holiday occasion.

  1. Half up half down messy bun

This beautifully simple half up half down messy bun is the perfect balance between casual and festive. Add some curls for a more playful look or keep it simple. While short hair may make this hairstyle a bit trickier to accomplish this look it is still totally possible so don’t be afraid to give it a try! The secret to this hairstyle is to not overthink it (and some bobby pins). Start by taking the top section of your hair and pulling it to the back to make a mini pony, then secure it with an elastic. Then take the mini pony that you’ve made and twist it into a bun or “top knot”, securing with a few bobby pins or an elastic if needed. Remember to pull some pieces out to give it more of that messy “I woke up like this” look! Check out Cassie Scroggin’s video on how to achieve this look!

2. One word: Scarf

Adding a festive scarf to your hair can transform your outfit with very minimal effort. There are tons of different ways you can use a scarf to elevate your look, try tying a scarf around your bun or ponytail, weave your scarf into a braid, or even make yourself a scarf headband. With so many colors, prints and sizes, scarves can add such a fun touch to your outfit and you are sure to get compliments from everyone.

3. Space buns

These adorable space buns are perfect for all holiday festivities, whether its a night out with the girls, friendsgiving or a secret santa soiree. What we love about this hairstyle is that it works for long, medium and short hair and can be super simple basic buns or dressed up with braids and curls, you can even add glitter for a fun New Year’s Eve look. While this one requires a bit more skill than the rest, its still a simple style that can be achieved by the most novice hairstylists.

4. Add fun clips!

Something as simple as a fun clip can make a hairstyle seem so sophisticated, put together and playful all at once. Play around with colors and different shapes and sizes of clips! This is another tip we love for all hair lengths and requires very little time, you can even keep some clips handy in your car to (pumpkin) spice up your look whenever you’re feeling the holiday spirit! You can even add a fun clip to any of the other hairstyles mentioned above for extra holiday flair!
